Living together in Harmony

The Project

“Living Together in Harmony” is a project that seeks to engage Jordanians and Iraqi refugees together in various activities that promote peace, peaceful reconciliation and cultural dialogue through artistic creativity, while respecting freedom of expression, which will enhance inclusivity, pluralism and cultural participation and lead to social cohesion.

The project specifically targets Iraqi refugees in Jordan. They have been divided into two age groups who will participate in different activities with a group of Jordanians of both genders and in different governorates. 45 male and female participants between the ages of 18 and 50 were selected to hold training workshops that introduce the concepts of citizenship, human rights, difference, diversity, pluralism, dialogue and communication, based on social-emotional learning (SEL) methods, which provide new skills such as: critical thinking, dialogue and communication through Interactive methods and using the arts.

As for the second age group, they are between the ages of 13 and 18 years, where 45 young men and women were selected to participate in a musical educational program, which focuses on teaching singing, including simplified basic musical theories, breathing exercises, and rhythm before starting to learn how to play different musical instruments. The program includes music learning workshops in addition to continuing to practice in person through an online platform that provides free content for an integrated academic music curriculum.

A concert will be organized in which the beneficiaries of the project will participate with a group of Jordanian musicians and trainers.
