Visit of the Embassy of Mexico in Jordan

As part of the visit of H.E. Roberto Rodríguez Hernández, Ambassador of Mexico, and a delegation from the Embassy to the Royal Institute for Inter-Faith Studies (RIIFS), the guests learned about the Institute’s programs and activities and explored avenues for future cooperation between the Mexican Embassy and RIIFS.

Ambassador Hernández expressed his appreciation for the efforts of HRH Prince El Hassan bin Talal and the important role played by the Institute through the conferences, seminars, and workshops it organizes—efforts that contribute to knowledge, culture, and the promotion of pluralism and mutual understanding.

Dr. Renée Hattar, Director of RIIFS, welcomed the visit and emphasized the importance of building fruitful cooperation in the future. She highlighted the Institute’s Arab-Iberian Diwan Program as one of its key initiatives, which promotes collaboration between Latin American countries and Jordan.

It is worth noting that the “Arab-Iberian-Latin Diwan for Thought and Cultural Exchange” was launched in 2017 under the guidance and patronage of HRH Prince El Hassan bin Talal. The Diwan was established as a platform to enhance dialogue between the Arab world and the Iberian–Latin world and to foster academic, social, and cultural cooperation. It focuses on reviving the “path of ideas” and reactivating knowledge production, as well as the exchange of literature and science through translation—laying the foundation for effective cultural and interfaith dialogue between these two worlds.
