HRH Prince El Hassan bin Talal, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Royal Institute for Interfaith Studies, held a meeting with His Eminence Dr. Damaskinos Al-Azrai, Metropolitan of the Diocese of Mareotis in the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate of Alexandria and all Africa. The meeting was also attended by Dr. Tagreed Odeh, Director of the Royal Institute for Interfaith Studies.
The meeting addressed issues related to the historical background of religions in the Levant, Christian-Christian dialogue, and building bridges between the Levant and the Christian West. It also emphasized the need to maintain Christian-Muslim dialogue in order to preserve the spirit of love and peace in society.
His Highness the Prince highlighted the importance of developing creative ways to address youth concerns in a language they can readily grasp, free from ideological bias.
His Highness also addressed the challenges and developments across the African continent, highlighting their effects on vulnerable and marginalized populations experiencing multiple forms of deprivation. He discussed matters related to technology, focusing on the ethics of artificial intelligence and principles of good governance. As always, the dialogue with His Highness Prince El Hassan unfolded in an atmosphere of warmth, mutual respect, and intellectual depth.
