The Royal Institute for Inter-Faith Studies hosted a group of Eastern Studies students from Wyoming University in the United States. Their visit to Jordan aimed to enhance their understanding of the Jordan’s history and its society. The program featured tours of archaeological sites as well as visits to both governmental and non-governmental institutions.
Dr. Tagreed Odeh, Director of the Institute, welcomed the students. Then, Dr. Ismael Ghananim, Senior Researcher at the Institute, delivered a concise presentation outlining the Institute’s mission along with its key projects and programs. Subsequently, Dr. Amer Al-Hafi, the Institute’s Academic Advisor, presented an overview of the history of Christian-Muslim relations in the Levant, particularly in Jordan, highlighting the importance of adhering human values and freedom of belief and religious practice, while underscoring the need to keep these principles detached from political agendas. In this context, Dr. Al-Hafi discussed the Amman Message and its role in spreading the values of love, justice, and equality. The visit concluded with an interactive discussion and question-and-answer session between the students and the Institute’s researchers, leading to a rich and productive academic exchange.
