The Royal Institute for Inter-Faith Studies and The University of Birmingham signed a Memorandum of Understanding to enhance the co-operative relationship between both sides for the general purpose of promoting and enhancing research, conferences, seminars, and other collaborative activities. Memorandum was signed by Dr. Wajih Kanso the Director of RIIFS and Dr. Yafa Shanneik Lecturer at UoF. The University of Birmingham will organize an international conference in conjunction with the Royal Institute for Inter-Faith Studies (RIIFS) and funded by the British Academy. It is part of the on-going BA funded project: “Negotiating Relationships and Redefining Traditions: Syrian and Iraqi Women Refugees in Jordan based” at the University of Birmingham (UK) in collaboration with Al-Balqa’ Applied University and the NGO Taghyeer in Jordan. The project uses art and new technology such as Virtual Reality as well as augmented reality to bring the experiences of refugee and host communities closer to the viewer.
