Dr. Tagreed Odeh
Director  of the Royal Institute for Inter-religious Studies.
She is a seasoned senior policy and international affairs professional with over two decades of distinguished service in diplomacy, human rights, migration, and interfaith engagement. She holds a doctorate in Political Science and International Relations and a Master’s degree in Human Rights and Human Development. Throughout her career, Dr. Odeh has held senior leadership and advisory positions within prominent international organizations, foundations, and governmental institutions, consistently demonstrating exceptional expertise in fostering and sustaining strategic partnerships with United Nations agencies, governments, academic institutions, and civil society organizations. In recognition of her outstanding professional contributions and her exemplary management of high-stakes, complex contexts, she was honored with the Globie Award by the Council on International Educational Exchange (CIEE).

Dr. Amer Al-Hafi
– Academic advisor at the Royal Institute for Inter-religious Studies.
– Ph.D. in Islamic Religion and Sciences;
– Specializes in: studies in religion, Islamic faith and sects, Islam and contemporary issues, current Islamic world, science of hadith, Islamic culture and Sufism.
– Languages: English, Arabic and Hebrew.

Dr. Ismael Abder-rahman Gil

He obtained his Ph.D. at the Ca’ Foscari University of Venice (Italy) and Philipps-Universität Marburg (Germany). His main research interest is literary geographies, the sociology of Culture, and Urban Sociology. His research focused on studying the Representation of Amman through contemporary Jordanian novels, and spatial practices. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Arabic Philology from the University of Granada, a master’s degree in Cultural heritage management from the University of Valencia (Spain), and a master’s degree in teaching specializing in foreign languages from the University of Granada (Spain).

Sandi Farhat
Full-time researcher at the Royal Institute for Inter-Faith Studies and PhD student in Political Science at the University of Jordan. She holds an MA in American Studies, where she analyzed the intersections of U.S. foreign policy, identity, and power. Her work examines the intersections of international relations, and strategic studies, exploring how identity and political dynamics shape global politics and policymaking. She has over seven years of experience as an English language lecturer and facilitator at Universities and humanitarian organization delivering peacebuilding and community engagement courses.

Ahmed Al Tawil
Bachelor of Law in Criminal Sciences. Specializing in Public International Law
Lecturer on Islamic Sufism and Islamic sects
Research on Arabic and Western music and Sufi singing
Certified International Trainer. Worked on writing international studies and reports for numerous Arab and international institutions.
He also worked in training in various fields and for various social groups.
 

 


Visiting Scholars and Interns Program

RIIFS further invites scholars, on a selective basis, from Arab countries and abroad, as visiting research associates, to involve them in the work of the institute.

RIIFS also targets students and researchers from different backgrounds interested in religious and interfaith studies to participate in an unpaid internships program which offers interdisciplinary activities related to the different lines of its research. The program allows students to acquire practical experience through attending the different events organized by the Institute such as conferences, debates, lectures and training programs and workshops, in addition to the research experience.


Dr. Molly Gower
Associate Professor in the Department of Religious Studies and Theology at Saint Mary’s College in Notre Dame, Indiana. She also holds faculty appointments at the Ansari Institute for Global Engagement with Religion and the Medieval Institute at the University of Notre Dame. Her research and teaching interests include Christian theology, Christian spirituality, Paris in the Middle Ages, religious reflection on friendship, and the common good.

Emma Casper
Emma Casper is a recent high school graduate. Graduating with distinction in her A Level subjects of Chemistry, History, and Religious Studies, Emma loves to explore and deeply understand the context of our history and how it applies to our current lives and shared future. During a gap year in Jordan Emma interned at RIIFS learning the importance of interfaith dialogue and how to interact professionally with people of different faiths.
