Amman, October 2, 2018– Under the patronage of HRH Prince Al Hassan bin Talal, the Royal Institute for Inter-Faith Studies, the Embassy of Chile in Jordan, and Institute Cervantes in Amman organized a conference on “The economic contribution of Arab immigration in Latin America: past, present and future”. The conference was conducted by Professor Jorge Sahd from the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile.
The conference focused on the contribution of Arab immigration to the development of Latin America, where the Chilean researcher presented the history of the first immigrants and their integration into Chilean society and their contribution to development in the political, economic and social spheres.
The activity was also honored by the presence of the former Director of the Royal Institute for Inter-Faith Studies, Dr. Wajih Kanso, the Chilean Ambassador in Jordan, Eduardo Escobar, the Director of the Department of International Studies, Dr. Renee Hattar, and members of the diplomatic corps from different countries.
The visit also featured a working session with RIIFS to discuss opportunities for future collaboration with the University of Jordan.
